My name is Serena Lekawa, and I am a new intern at Nourish the Planet. I am from Orange County, CA, and I graduated from Foothill High School’s International Baccalaureate program in 2012. Currently I am a rising junior at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in Anthropology with a track in Global Health and Environment, and a minor in Writing.
My goal for the 6 weeks I will spend as an intern at Nourish the Planet is to both learn and help as much as I can–I want to be a sponge (but one that contributes)! I am excited for the project-based nature of this opportunity and hope to make the absolute most of it. The discussions we have had about potential tasks and projects have me geared up for the weeks ahead. Though I have much to learn in many capacities, I feel inspired by Nourish the Planet’s commitment to sustainability and cannot wait to get started. I hope to have fun, better myself and make a difference all at the same time!
